Hindu Balbal Awareness Divisional Invitational Mallakhamba Competition 2026

Traditional Mallavidya, Mallakhamb Training and Research Center organized and approved by Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamb Organization Hindu Balbal Awareness Divisional Invitational Mallakhamb Tournament 2026 was held from 31 January 2026 to 01 February 2026 at Malad. In the said competition, a competition for children under 12/14/16 years of age was organized. Officials of Traditional Mallavidya, Mallakhamba Training and Research Center, Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamba Association as well as Arjuna Award and Sri Shiva Chhatrapati Award winning players/coaches, other dignitaries were present for the said competition. The winners of the said competition were awarded with certificates, medals and attractive prizes. The result of the said competition is as follows.

District Level Panch Class and Panch Exam

District Level Panch Class and Panch Pariksha organized by Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamba Association at Sane Guruji Arogya Mandir, Santacruz on 6th to 7th December 2025. 31 people have registered for the said examination and Panchavarga was guided by the senior officials of Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamba Association. The result of the examination is as follows.

Prabodhan Sports Festival Inter School Mallakhamba Competition 2025-26

Prabodhan Krida Bhawan and Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamba Association organized Prabodhan Sports Festival Inter School Mallakhamba Competition for Dahisar to Bandra Division on 10th December 2025. Under 8, 10, 12, 14 and 17 years players from schools in the western suburbs showcased their skills in the competition. Officials of Prabodhan Krida Bhavan Sanstha, Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamba Association officials as well as Sri Shiva Chhatrapati award winning players/coaches and other dignitaries were present for the said competition. 4th Aarambh Sports Mallakhamb Competition 2026

The 4th Aarambh Sports Mallakhamb Competition 2026, organized with the approval of Aarambh Sports and the Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamb Association, was held on February 21 and 22, 2026. In this competition, athletes—both boys and girls—across the age categories of Under-8, Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, Under-16, and Over-16 showcased their skills. The event was graced by the presence of office bearers from Aarambh Sports and the Moraya Mitra Mandal organization, officials from the Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamb Association, as well as recipients of the Arjuna Award and Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Award (athletes and coaches), along with other distinguished dignitaries. Annual General Meeting of Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamb Association

The Annual General Meeting of the Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamb Association was held on 21st September 2025 at Jawahar Vidya Bhavan, Chembur. About 60 people, including office bearers of Mumbai Suburban District, representatives of affiliated organizations, and life members, were present for the meeting. In this meeting, information was given and discussions were also held about various activities undertaken by the Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamb Association. Everyone appreciated the various activities of the Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamb Association and wished the organization well for its future endeavors. Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Award winners in Mallakhamb game Mr. Ganesh Devrukhkar (Coach), Ms. Akshay Taral, Ms. Janhvi Jadhav, Ms. Rupali Gangavane (Players) were felicitated in the meeting. Also, Ms. Nidhi Rane and Ms. Abhishek Prasad, who were honored with the Meritorious Sportsperson Award by the District Sports Officer (Mumbai Suburban), were felicitated. Similarly, to encourage Mallakhamba Patu, Ms. Dhruv Posture and Ms. Kavyashree Masurkar were felicitated for their excellent performance in the year 2024-25 in memory of the late Dattaram Dudam Sir. Similarly, the first working president of Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamb Sanghatana, Shri. Kailash Khandjode was honored. After thanking all the dignitaries and representatives present, the meeting concluded with the national anthem.

15th June International Mallakhamb Day

The program “Mallakhamb Seminar” was organized on 15th June 2025 on the occasion of International Mallakhamb Day in collaboration with Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamb Association and Sane Guruji Arogya Mandir. About 100 players, umpires, coaches, guides, organizers and office bearers of the organization from various organizations in Mumbai Suburban participated in the program. The Director of Kalnirnay Calendar, Shri. Jayendra Salgaonkar, was the chief guest for the program. Shri. Jayendra Salgaonkar announced that the date 15th June will henceforth be printed as Mallakhamb Day in the Kalnirnay Calendar. Also, for the Mallakhamb Seminar, Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Award winner and dietician Shri Apurva Surve from Mallakhamb provided valuable guidance on the topics of “Balanced Diet – Mount to Dismount”, Sports Physiotherapist Dr. Yuvraj Singh provided valuable guidance on “Importance of Exercise and Mallakhamb Game” and Senior Mallakhamb Coach Shri Mahesh Atale provided valuable guidance on “Psychology for Mallakhamb Game”. Shri Ashish Deval, Secretary of Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamb Association, thanked the chief guests and speakers as well as the players, umpires, coaches, guides, organizers and office bearers of the organization and concluded the program with the national anthem.

Ajinkyatara Cup Invitational Mallakhamb Tournament 2025

In collaboration with Suvidya Prasarak Sangh and Suvidya Degree College and Mallakhamb Love, and with the approval of Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamb Association, the 4th Ajinkyatara Cup Invitational Mallakhamb Tournament in memory of Late Dattaram Dudam Sir was organized on 3rd and 4th May 2025 at Yojana Vidyalaya, Borivali (East).

The competition was held for boys and girls under the age of 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 years, as well as for the second consecutive year, Para Mallakhamba competitions. In it, about 500 players participated. Also, dignitaries from the political and social sectors, office bearers of the organization, umpires, coaches, guides, organizers and volunteers as well as Shiv Chhatrapati Award winners and other dignitaries also actively participated in the program. The winners were awarded certificates, medals, trophies for their remarkable achievements and all the players were honored with the Late Dattaram Dudam Sir’s medal.

The team under the leadership of Ashish Deval, Secretary of Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamb Association, performed excellently. All the arrangements, from establishment to implementation, were made with utmost skill, due to which the program was successfully completed within the scheduled time. The program was highly appreciated by the President of Suvidya Prasarak Sangh Shri. Mahadev Ranade, Late Dattaram Dudam Sir’s wife Shri. Smita Dudam Madam as well as Hon. MLA Shri. Sanjay Upadhyay and Chairman of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board Shri. Siddhesh Kadam, President of Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamb Association Shri. Karunakar Shetty, Former Corporator Shri. Pratibhatai Girkar, Former Corporator Shri. Shiva Shetty and wished them well for the future.

FiT INDIA MOVEMENT – BEACH GAMES – MALLAKHAMB

Under the FiT India Movement initiated by the Government of India, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) successfully organised the Mallakhamb Competition along with various other sports events on 23rd March 2025 at Aksa Beach, Malad. The Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana, under the leadership of Secretary, Ashish Deval, played a crucial role in the successful execution of this event. The entire planning, from setup to execution, was carried out with great skill, ensuring a seamless event.

A special thanks to Devanshi Mali for her valuable support and coordination with the SAI officials. Her efforts significantly contributed to the smooth conduct of the competition and the promotion of Mallakhamb sports.

A total of 90 athletes participated in the open category for boys and girls. Additionally, over 130 individuals, including officials, referees, coaches, mentors, organisers and volunteers, actively took part in the event. The competition was graced by the presence of SAI officials, President of Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana, Karunakar Shetty and Secretary, Ashish Deval. The event was also attended by Shiv Chhatrapati Awardees and other distinguished guests. Winners were honored with certificates and medals for their remarkable achievements.

Mumbai Suburban District Invitational Mallakhamb Competition 2025

The Mumbai Suburban District Invitational Mallakhamb Competition 2025 was successfully organized with the approval of Bandra East Shiv Sena (UBT) Yuva Sena and the Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana on 16th February 2025. A total of 180 athletes (boys and girls) participated in two categories: under 14 years and above 14 years, showcasing their skills. Additionally, nearly 230 individuals including officials, referees, coaches, mentors, organisers and volunteers took part in the event. The competition was graced by the presence of Hon. MLC – Anil Parab, Hon. MLA – Varun Sardesai, Shiv Sena (UBT) Deputy Leader – Amol Kirtikar, Vidhan Sabha Sanghatak – Sada Parab, Padmashri awardee – Uday Deshpande, President of Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana – Karunakar Shetty, Dronacharya awardee and President of Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana – Ganesh Devrukhkar and Secretary of Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana – Ashish Deval. The event was also attended by Shiv Chhatrapati Awardees and other distinguished guests. The winners of competition were honored with certificates, medals and attractive prizes for their achievements. Additionally, eight athletes from Mumbai Upanagar District, who were part of the Maharashtra team that won in Mallakhamb at the National Games held in February 2025, were also felicitated for their outstanding performance.

3rd Aarambh Sports Mallakhamb Competition 2025

The 3rd Aarambh Sports Mallakhamb Competition 2025 was successfully organized with the approval of Aarambh Sports and Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana on 1 & 2 February 2025. A total of 416 athletes (boys and girls) participated in various age categories: under 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 years as well as above 16 years, showcasing their skills. Additionally, nearly 470 individuals including officials, referees, coaches, mentors, organisers and volunteers took part in the event. The competition was honored by the presence of Padma Shri awardee – Uday Deshpande, Dronacharya awardee and President of Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana – Ganesh Devrukhkar and Secretary of Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana – Ashish Deval. The event was also graced by Shiv Chhatrapati Awardees and dignitaries from Moraya Mitra Mandal. The winners of the competition were felicitated with certificates, medals and attractive prizes for their achievements.

24th Parle Mahotstav Competition

The 24th Parle Mahotsav Mallakhamb Competition 2024-25 was successfully organized for the Mumbai Suburban District with the approval of Shri Parleshwar Vyayamshala and the Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana on 25 & 26 December 2024. A total of 160 athletes (boys and girls) from the open age category showcased their skills. Additionally, nearly 200 individuals including officials, referees, coaches, mentors, organisers and volunteers participated in the event. The competition was graced by Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra – Devendra Fadnavis, Hon. MLA – Parag Alavani, Former Hon. Corporator – Jyoti Alavani, Padmashri awardee – Uday Deshpande, Dronacharya awardee and President of Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana – Ganesh Devrukhkar and Secretary of Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana – Ashish Deval. The event was also graced by Arjuna Awardee and Shiv Chhatrapati Awardees along with dignitaries from Shri Parleshwar Vyayamshala. 40 th Lt. Bhausaheb Ranade Navodit Mallakhamb Competition 2024-2025

The 40th Lt. Bhausaheb Ranade Navodit Mallakhamb Competition 2024-25 was successfully organized for the Mumbai Upanagar District with the approval of Sane Guruji Aarogya Mandir and Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana on 14 & 15 December 2024. A total of 717 athletes (boys and girls) showcased their skills across different age groups: under 10, 12, 14, 16, and above 16 years. Additionally, nearly 800 individuals including officials, referees, coaches, mentors, organisers and volunteers participated in the event. Distinguished guests present at the competition included Padmashri awardee – Uday Deshpande, Dronacharya awardee and Chairman of Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana – Ganesh Devrukhkar and Secretary of Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana – Ashish Deval. The Prabodhan Krida Mahotsav Interschool Mallakhamb Competition for Dahisar to Bandra region was successfully held on December 11, 2024, with the approval of Prabodhan Krida Bhavan and Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana. Approximately 135 athletes from schools across the western suburbs participated in the competition, showcasing their skills in different age groups: under 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16 years (boys and girls). Additionally, nearly 200 individuals including officials, referees, coaches, mentors, organisers and volunteers took part in the event. Distinguished guests present at the competition included officials from Prabodhan Krida Bhavan, Ashish Deval – Secretary of the Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana as well as Shiv Chhatrapati Awardees and other eminent personalities. The winners of the competition were honored with certificates and medals for their achievements.

Inter School State Level Mallakhamb Competition 2024-25 :

The Inter-School State-Level Mallakhamb Championship 2024-25 was held on 28 & 29 November 2024, under the aegis of the Directorate of Sports and Youth Services, Maharashtra State, Pune, in collaboration with the District Sports Office, District Sports Council, Mumbai Suburban, and jointly organized by the Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana and Bima Nagar Education Society. A total of 192 athletes from 8 divisions across Maharashtra participated in the competition along with officials, referees, coaches, mentors, organisers and volunteers, bringing the total number of attendees to approximately 300. The championship was a grand success, bringing together the best Mallakhamb talent from across the state.

Annual General Meeting of Mumbai Suburban District Mallakhamb Association

The Annual General Meeting of Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana was held on 29th September 2024, at Poinsur Gymkhana, Kandivali (West). The meeting was attended by nearly 100 individuals, including distinguished guests, office bearers from the Mumbai Upanagar District, representatives of affiliated institutions and lifetime members. During the meeting, information was shared and discussions were held regarding various initiatives undertaken by the Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana. The association’s new website, logo and various activities were highly appreciated and attendees extended their best wishes for its future endeavors. In the meeting, a felicitation ceremony was held to honor Shri Ganesh Devarukhkar, a recipient of the Dronacharya Award in Mallakhamb, along with the winners of 2nd World Mallakhamb Championship Akshay Taral, Janhavi Jadhav, and Rupali Gangawane. Additionally, to encourage Mallakhamb athletes, a new tradition was introduced this year in memory of Late Dattaram Dudam Sir, wherein emerging players will be recognized for their achievements. For the year 2023-24, Viraj Ambre and Tanvi Davane were honored for their outstanding performances. Moreover, Mallakhamb enthusiasts who contributed donations to the Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana were thanked for their generosity. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to all dignitaries and representatives, followed by the national anthem.

Mallakhamb Day 15th June

On the occasion of Mallakhamb Day i.e. on 15th June 2024, the official website of the Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana was inaugurated.

Also, the new logo of the Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana was unveiled.

Furthermore, due to the efforts of Mumbai Upanagar Zillha Mallakhamb Sanghatana, the world-renowned and prestigious Kalnirnay calendar has included 15 June as International Mallakhamb Day in its 2025 edition. This recognition will undoubtedly help to bring greater public awareness to Mallakhamb, an ancient and traditional Indian sport.
